The championship will be held over the weekend of 10-11 March at Baqueira Beret ski resort.

Baqueira Beret is once again hosting the Jesús Serra Foundation Trophy in its 11th edition and which will be held at the weekend of 10-11 March. The battle for the trophy named after the founder of the Catalana Occidente Group will take place in two races over the course of the weekend.
On Saturday 10 March, the competition will begin with the Open event in which all the entrants will compete in the giant slalom. This race is all about speed, skill and technique as competitors seek to get down a simple route as quickly as possible since the winner is the one who manages to complete the circuit in the shortest time.
On Sunday 11 March, the 16 best times in the women’s category and the 32 best times in the men’s category will compete in the second and last race Trophy in a parallel slalom. This event consists of two simultaneous descents on a shorter run than the giant slalom. It is extremely spectacular as spectators get to see the battle between the two skiers to cross the finishing line first. Without a doubt it will be one of the most thrilling moments of the weekend.
The winners of the two races will take away big prizes. The first three qualifiers in the Saturday event will be given Salomon and Buff products and a subscription to Solonieve, the official championship magazine. Skiers who achieve the top three places on Sunday will receive Suunto, Salomon and Buff products plus a study grant cheque worth €3,000 (1st prize), €2,500 (2nd prize) and €2,000 (3rd prize). The award of the grants is an essential part of the Trophy since its founder, Jesús Serra, was really keen on education.
The deadline for registering for the Trophy is 11 pm on Thursday, 8 March. People who want to take part should be quick since places are limited to 500 skiers.
Competition and… Party!
The Jesús Serra Foundation Trophy is also a great popular ski party, with gifts and surprises during the two days of the competition in which there will be prizes for all. On Saturday and after the main awards ceremony, there will be a big draw among all the participants. The gifts to be raffled include Salomon sports equipment, a weekend at the Hotel Palacio de Villapanés in Seville, Buff products, two-day ski passes at Baqueira Beret and subscriptions to Solonieve magazine.
